Attend one of our programs or unique workshops throughout the calendar year. Get your feet wet on topics like Volunteer Management, Sources for Statistics and Research or take part in a nationally renowned trainer’s program on Board Development. We offer a wide variety of free programs.

Schedule a Board Retreat

Let our Coordinator facilitate your board’s strategic planning discussion, teach the Ten Basic Responsibilities of a Board or the role of the board in Fundraising.  Set aside up to six hours on a Saturday and learn how the board can better drive the mission.

Visit the Center

We are located in the Allen County Public Library, in the Readers’ Services Department on the first floor.  Our street address is 900 Library Plaza, Fort Wayne, IN 46801.

Parking is free for residents who have their Allen County Public Library card with them.

For all others PLAC cardholders, cardholders who left their cards at home and non-cardholders, parking is $1 per hour with a maximum charge of $7 per day.

The parking payment /validation machine is in the Great Hall near the checkout desk. Please bring your parking stub inside the library. The machine accepts credit cards and cash, dispensing dollar coins for change.

Management, Boards, Finances, Grant Writing, How to Start a Nonprofit, Marketing, Planned Giving, Fund Raising and more.

Bag of books are a collection of like materials for checkout as kits. Topics include: About the Ask, Assessment of Boards & CEOs, Board Chair, Board Governance, Board Recruitment, Board Stewardship, Chief Executive Toolkit, Financial Management, Fundraising, Hiring the Chief Executive, Legal Issues, New Board Member, Nonprofit Committees, Organizational Lifecycle and Transitions, Proposal Writing, and Strategic Planning.

What We CANNOT Do:

  • The PCNRC does NOT provide consultations to for-profit businesses, or business start-ups
  • The PCNRC does NOT help individuals find grants for personal use (paying bills or for education)
  • The PCNRC does NOT write, evaluate or proofread grant proposals
