Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana is seeking a full-time Director of Finance to oversee the financial, accounting, information systems and human resource functions of the non-profit corporation. Additionally, the Director of Finance must embrace an attitude of continuous improvement and seek opportunities to improve and enhance the support systems to make CSNI more effective and efficient. This position is part of the senior management team which works together to enhance the quality of life of those affected by cancer by providing meaningful resources, information and compassionate assistance.

Reports to: President and CEO

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of policies, procedures and priorities relating to the financial management, budget, accounting and payroll activities
  • Directs the maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures
  • Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, cost , property and operating expenses and insurance records
  • Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenue
  • Directs internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls
  • Coordinates preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting
  • Prepares financial statements, reports and committee minutes as required
  • Reviews financial statements with management and the Treasurer of the board
  • Support management in personnel actions including, hiring, evaluation, promotion, probation, and dismissal
  • Maintain complete and accurate personnel files with necessary documentation
  • Serve as primary contact with IT contractors
  • Maintain all necessary software and hardware documentation for licensing
  • Identify and recommend enhancements to technology infrastructure


  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or information technology at an accredited college or university or any combination of training, education, and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in accounting or related field
  • Must be prepared to interact with funders and donors as needed to secure agency support
  • Must have personal integrity and a demonstrated sense of humor
  • Must be able to maintain confidences
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to work as team with agency leaders
  • Friendly, mature and compassionate individual able to interact successfully with a wide variety of people.
  • Must have good credit history
  • Must be bondable
