Social Media Recap on Content Management

The run down on the 2nd Social Media Seminar

Jasmine Bejar and John Felts of Visit Fort Wayne gave an insightful and entertaining presentation on Content Management for the 2nd Social Media Seminar of the summer.  Hosted by Amber Foster, Executive Director of Artlink, this session explained the strategy and importance of organizing and managing social media content. With the mindset of Visit Fort Wayne being “promote everything”, our presenters certainly know a thing or two about managing a high volume of content!

J and J PresentingJasmine and John shared information about their own content calendar, which they use to keep a running schedule for social media posts, mainly posted on Facebook and Twitter. They stressed the point of knowing who your audience is in order to have a more effective and relevant outreach. Other points covered included:

  • Organizing content by sharing all your information in one place
  • Create a content calender to organize posts and events
  • Put time into organizing content, it will save you time in the long run
  • C.O.P.E. – Create Once, Post Everywhere – Post same content on multiple platforms
  • Remember who you are talking to

The question and answer portion at the end of the presentation addressed attendees main concerns over topics such as tracking social media analytics, new social media applications, and how Instagram compares to other apps.
