Request for Feedback on Legal Requirements for Serving Food at Nonprofit Events

This morning, we received the following email from the Indiana Office of Faith-Based and Family Initiatives. Please take a moment to respond to the brief survey about nonprofits and food handling (direct link).

As a service to the Indiana State Department of Health we are forwarding this survey request. (NOTE: It must be completed by August 31, 2013):

“My name is Dan Schlenk, and I am with the Food Protection Division of the Indiana State Department of Health. Last year’s legislature asked us to prepare a recommendation as to what the law(s) should be concerning the requirements for non-profit entities to have a certified food handler on staff/present during events. In order to gain insight from the public, affected organizations, and local officials alike, we have published an online survey. It is accessible by going to, clicking “newsroom” on the left hand side of the page, and scrolling down to “July 11 – Notice of virtual public hearing”. A direct link can be found here.”

The survey will close at the end of August. Thank you.
