Conference Background Information:
The 2010 Regional Governor’s Conferences on Service and Volunteerism will be held this fall and early winter in Madison, Terre Haute, Valparaiso, and Fort Wayne. The conferences will be chaired by OFBCI on behalf of Governor Daniels.
Like in previous years, the purpose of these conferences will be to provide a forum where Indiana volunteer coordinators, national service members and service-learning participants, as well as the organizations that represent these groups, can engage in meaningful dialogue, exchange best practices, receive meaningful training, establish partnerships, and celebrate accomplishments.
This will be the first year we are hosting a one-day regional conference instead of a two-day conference in Indianapolis. The anticipated attendance for this event is between 100-150 participants. The conference will provide customized sessions that will enable participants to tailor their experience to their own unique needs, the Governor’s Awards for Volunteer Service to recognize outstanding Hoosier volunteer accomplishments, and networking opportunities abound.
