Governor’s Awards for Volunteer Service Invites Nominations

The Governor’s Regional Conference on Service and Volunteering requests that you consider who you could nominate for the Governor’s Awards for Volunteer Service.

There are three nomination categories: Nominations must be received by November 22.

1)      Youth Service Award: refers to any young person age 14-18.  With the exception of the service-learning category, most nominees under the age of 18 will fall into this category.

2)      Volunteerism: refers to volunteers in general, whose service has been performed primarily in Indiana.

3)      Lifetime Achievement: refers to volunteers who have exhibited a lifetime commitment to service in their communities, primarily in Indiana.

Visit the web site for the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives for a nomination form.  Nominations will be reviewed by people working in the Region IV area (22 counties) and awarded at the Governor’s Regional Conference on Service and Volunteering on January 20 at the Public Safety Academy in Fort Wayne.
