The most important thing to remember is that to attend both the Panel Discussion and the Meet the Funder sessions you MUST register for each separately.

REGISTER HERE for each portion separately by clicking on each event on June 17, 2009.

Never attended? Check out the program format that allows you to interact with funders in a friendly setting:

8:30 a.m. Registration

9:00-9:30 a.m. Panel Discussion: Hear local funders speak candidly about their foundation’s response to the current economic climate and how it has affected their grant making.

9:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Meet the Funders Segment for Registered participants ONLY.  Local funders address small groups to discuss their giving practices and priorities. You will have the chance to ask funders questions following their presentations.

  1. Should we bring information with us regarding our organization to be given to the funders?

And if so, what is best? Our brochures, statistics, pictures, etc.?

Thanks for your help and all you do for us. Really appreciate the listing of grant opportunities.

    • Good questions! The answer is, “No. This is not the time to share about your organization, but to learn about our local funders’ giving priorities and practices.”

The most important step in obtaining grant funding is asking the best-matched funder. This program provides nonprofits information about the kinds of things local funders support.

You will have the chance to ask questions of funders if they don’t provide you with the information you are looking for, but your attendance is not so much about promotion of your good work, so much as learning about what the funders do.

Please let me know at if this does not answer your question!
      Thanks for asking!

  2. If our nonprofit is outside Allen County should we come to Meet the Funders? Will there be foundations there that fund outside the county?

    • This is a good question with a complicated answer: “It depends.”

A number of the funders we expect in attendance grant funds outside of Allen County, but each for specific fields of interest. In short, their fields of interest may or may not apply to your cause, your methods, or your specific “type of support” need.

The PCNRC does not determine whether or not organizations are eligible for funding from specific funders, but rather, teaches nonprofits how to decide by reviewing 990PFs and attending this program and our Grant Seeking Basics classes.

Please email and we’d be happy to help you in more detail!

      Thanks for asking,

  3. Which foundation will be there? That will help me determine if I should attend. We get funding from quite a few local foundations, and I have been in touch with many of them. But if there will be representatives from foundations we haven’t approached or didn’t know about, I would gladly attend. Can you tell us who’s on the agenda?

    • Thanks for asking, Sally!

As of today, we have confirmations from:
      AWS Foundation
The Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne
      Dekko Foundation
      Foellinger Foundation
      Goldstine Foundation
      Lincoln Foundation
      The Lutheran Foundation
PNC Bank, formerly National City Bank
      St. Joe Community Health Foundation
      Wells Fargo Bank

We hope to see you there!
